Only thing I may would do different is I have the mezzanine seat with the live well. Couple years and would not think twice about it after there is some "real" performance testing. They will be corrected, but I would not want to be the dude doing the testing for them as little as we all get to fish. With any new product there will be issues with manufacturing. The 150's have been around forever and the mfg kinks are pretty much out. He had the same thoughts I did on them with being so new to the market. Pretty sure Mark is happy with his and I have a buddy in Topsail that has one that he has put about 90 hours on and is pleased.
After a lot of assurances I have been very happy with them. I knew the overall boat was great for what I wanted to do, but just concerned about the power. I think one of the main things that drove me right back to Sea Hunt was being able to get Joel on the phone at Sea Hunt when I was looking at the 27 with the 150's. You got a great looking boat and obvious it has been taken care of. We normally are about 1.8 to 2.2mpg depending on load and how much I push it. I would love to bump up one day to something in the 30ft range. And if you go the gamefish 27 are you going to do the 150s or something bigger. Let me tell you this you want find a v hull with twin anything and get over 3 mpg. What ever I buy it has to be trailerable so I can kill the fish all up and down the coast. in a 26' boat that will EAT the NC Chop! That will open up my fishing days hopefully!! Just gotta head to FL or find a local that has one and take a ride. I would LOVE to keep my fishing MPG's around 3+. There are NONE on the used market from what I can find. The 140hp Zukes bring the boat to around $85,000 - then trailer. and Twin Yamaha 115's it's close to 4 MPG. once she is sold we can work on that wheelin-n-dealinįrom what I have read the Calcutta with twin Suzuki 90's gets over 4 MPG!! Twin 90 Hondas it's around 3+. Auto-pilot, radar and windless - she ate up the rough seas! Calcutta is the way to go. I had a 21' Sea Cat w/honda 90's and it was one of my favorite boats. Or work out a deal with Calcutta on 2 boats. We should partner up since we both put such few hours on our current rigs. I would just like a little more boat to troll for Wahoos and still fish inshore. I only have 103 hrs on her but I love the 4mpg 32. I also have a 22' Sea Hunt BX 22 with a Yamaha 200 and a Sea Hunt T Top. That's funny cause I'm thinking the same thing about the Calcutta w/130 Zuks and an upper station. ** And to be honest I have not priced a Freeman yet.but know they are well over $100k. Price is a big big factor as is keeping my fuel mileage up so my cheap a$$ crew can still afford to fish. The Calcutta can achieve 3.5+ MPG with cheaper smaller engines. Reason you have the 27 Calcutta over Freeman 29VH? Price?
